f for effort.
Dear Think: Just me throwing around some thoughts here, but I really don’t think a glitter pen collage of Lindsay Lohan qualifies as art.  All best,  me.

silver linings.
Ladysmith Black Mambazo tweeted at me tonight! When work is rough (say customer service much?), “homelessness” imminent (I move back home tomorrow morning), and the holidays bringing not too much mirth or joy (I ate one latke this year) it’s the little things that make the difference.  Here’s to moonlight sleeping on a midnight lake, new beginnings, and New York City.

top 10, 20(x)200.
At my (temporary) place of work, we all were asked to send our top ten prints released on 20x200 this year. As Ms. Jen Bekman has spoken of on her blog, my coworker David already posted his, and here now are my top 10: Budapest Zoo (Douglas Friedman)   I can’t exactly place what it is I love about this piece, but it speaks to me. I purchased it for myself as a Hannukah gift (don’t...

file it under things that matter. →
Silly Brits. British Airway’s website is promoting Playtype, a pop-up font-shop in Copenhagen. If you can’t buy a type you maywant to at least figure out what type you are by taking their over-the-top, campy quiz. I tend to self-identify with Georgia, but found out I was Baskerville Italic. Really?

year in review: recommended reads.
Not from me, from legit authors (courtesy of New York Magazine) But let’s be honest, the illustration from Kagan McLeod (above) is straight paraphrasing - if you will - from Jane Mount’s Ideal Bookshelf (could be named, bookself harharhar) series (below).  … but now it actually looks like a bookshelf! Job well done, I say.

everyone skating merrily.
Christmastime is here! aside from the merriment, twinkle lights, and cheer (and things that have to do with hot toddies, see below) one of the best parts of the holiday season is the Charlie Brown Christmas album. My favorite song off the album is the track “Skating” and that is exactly what I intend do this winter! The Standard Hotel has reopened their skating rink, and what would a...

lagavulin single malt.
In Season 3, Episode 16 of The West Wing, Toby Ziegler and the British ambassador the to the U.S., Lord John Marbury, discuss at a White House party the controversial planned visit of an Irish political figure. Lord Marbury then says he was “looking for some Lagavulin. It’s a 16-year Islay single malt.” To which Toby says he knows of Lagavulin and invites Lord Marbury to a...

Wiki brings the heat, like 24/7. I am so loving that there’s an article dedicated to the ranking of presidents.

Things I love: Islamic Art, mocking French people, the idea of string cheese (both a food and a game), beards. More importantly: Islamic Art and architecture. They’ve had this design stuff down for like, millennia?
